Flap Valves HDPE - Drainage systems - Flood protection

Flap Valves prevent water backup through storm pipes and discharge pipes. For round and rectangular or square openings.

Flap Valves prevent rising water from entering a storm drain system. They are back flow stoppers at the discharge outlet.

In case of rising water levels flooding is prevented due to self- actuated closing of the flap. HDPE units are less weight than metal flap valves and virtually maintenance free.

Materials of construction is HDPE with 316L stainless steel for all metallic parts. Corrosion protection for long life operations.

HDPE Flap valves in water control systems, protection infrastructure from storm damage. They prevent back flow into discharge pipes and protect low level lands and building structures.

Standard HDPE flap valves may be covered by one meter water collum on a continuous bases and five meter of water head up to 72 hours in the event of flood conditions. Higher withstanding pressures are available.

Flap valves HDPE units have very low cracking heads, doors open for one way flow with just a few millimeters of deferential pressure.

Mounting types available:

Flap Valves Wall mounted: flap valve bolt mounted to a flat wall to prevent reverse flow.

Flap Valves Flange mounted: flap valve for attachment to a flanged at the end of a pipe.

Flap Valves Tidal Water mount: flap valve door is mounted on a 10 degree angle.

Flap Valves Continuous Underwater mount: flap valve always water covered, 10 degree angle.

Flap Valves Pressure Lines: flap valves for pump applications.

Inline Penstocks In pipe placement flange to flange.

Discharges to tidal waters, ditches, manholes, culverts, reservoirs, ponds basins and Ponds are typical applications where flap valves are used. Flap Valves are check valves that allow outflow of water while preventing back flow.

Flap Valves can be as small as a 4" pipe (100 mm) and up. Out falls not equipped with back flow protection, can have a devastating effect in the event of heavy rainfalls, storms and higher than normal tides.

HDPE flap valves require very low opening pressure. When water on the face side of the flap valve rises above water on the back side, the watertight door closes automatically to prevent back flow.

Flap Valves may be installed above the waterline or below the waterline.

HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) Flap Valves, are lightweight, corrosion resistant non-return check valves for the prevention of flood damage.
